https://forum.wildgames.com/index.php?showtopic=12938 Massmod v2.0.6 by Mr. Sir Recommended installation of this mod is through Greg Brown's Mod Manager program (v. 1.31 or higher). Manual installation is not supported at this time, and manually installing this mod is actively discouraged. Remember to back up your game before installing this mod, as I cannot guarantee that this mod will work properly on all computers or all FATE versions, although there have been no reported problems. This mod requires the FATE Bonus Pack, downloadable from www.playfate.com. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, or bug reports, please post them in this mod's official thread (titled Mod Release - Massmod) in the WildGames FATE Forum (https://forum.wildgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5) under FATE Game Modification > Completed Mods. This version of Massmod (2.0.5) is the most current stable build of Massmod. This mod and everything in it has been fully tested (on a Windows XP computer with FATE Version 1.21b). If you find any unreported bugs while playing, please post them in this mod's official thread. As of the current release, there has been a reported conflict between this mod and Underworld (by dragonmatt5), reported by magmon. This is the only instance of such a bug being reported. However, I myself am running Underworld and have encountered no conflicts, so this may just be a computer bug. If you become aware of any other conflicts with other mods, please post them in this mod's official thread. The following are brief summaries of the various things that Massmod adds to your playing experience. [*NEW*] denotes items and/or features introduced in Version 2.0. Idols ------ Idols are small figurines that, when used, give 100% resistance to one element while also giving a 50% weakness to the others. The Wildfyre, Thunder, Blizzard, and Magyck Idols are all available from your local merchant for 1500 GP each. They come fully charged with 5 uses, lasting two minutes each. New Armor Sets --------------- Massmod includes seven (count 'em, seven) new sets of armor: Immaterial, Darkhalf, Paragon, Tornsoul, Pharaonic, Seidon, and Wood Elf. Each has their own set of stats and intrinsic qualities [*NEW*]. Each also comes with a robe, hat, and soft gloves, except the Wood Elf set. [*NEW*] -Immaterial Armor is forged from solid mana, and as such is incredibly hard to break. However, the mana drains stamina and inhibits combat abilities. -Darkhalf Armor is made in the Underworld, and therefore encourages death and destruction. The wearer recieves bonuses to combat abilities, but at the cost of defense. -Paragon Armor contains the power of the natural world. It encourages magic, but only for defensive use. -Tornsoul Armor strips away the rationality of the wearer's brain, turning them into a remorseless killing machine. However, the life span of the wearer is severely shortened. -Pharaonic Armor bestows the power of the ancient kings upon the wearer. However, the burden is quite great, and the user is slowed as a result. [*NEW*] -Seidon Armor is forged from pure seawater, and contains the power of the Great Sea. Water's ability to wear things down over time transfers to the wearer. [*NEW*] -Wood Elf Armor is created from the bark of the Dagua Tree, deep in the Old Forest. It grants amazing abilities to archers. [*NEW*] New Spells ----------- Massmod comes fully loaded with seven new spells. *Targeted Healing spells allow you to heal a summoned monster or pet of your choice for less mana than the Group Heal spells. Available in Lesser and Greater versions. *Spirit Cleanse removes all hostile spell effects from your character, while the Group version does the same for you, your pet, and your summoned monsters. *Banish allows you to dispel the target's summoned monsters. Give those Gryphonesses a taste of their own medicine! *Brainwash reprograms the target's mind, causing it to aid you in battle permanently. However, the process is quite draining, so the monster loses 30% of its Vitality. *Beast Charge summons an arcane wolf that charges the target, causing piercing and slashing damage. [*NEW*] Mage's Savior ------------- If you play a mage character, then being Muffled is quite possibly the worst thing in the world for you. That's why Massmod adds the Mage's Savior items. Mage's Savior not only removes the effect of Muffle Magic but gives you a mana boost to start you back on your way. The Lesser version gives you 250 mana, while the Greater version gives you 500 mana. Easter Eggs ----------- Three Easter Eggs have been hidden in this mod. These little surprises can appear anywhere in the dungeon, and two will even appear in shops, although most people won't be able to buy them (this is intentional). They cannot be summoned with the cheat console. Here they are: *Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch *King Arthur's Coconuts *Maxwell's Silver Hammer (with new sound!) If you find an easter egg legitimately, please post a screenshot in this mod's official thread in the WildGames FATE Forum (https://forum.wildgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5) under FATE Game Modification > Completed Mods. The Lost Artifacts -------------------------- Early on in my modding "career", I released a mod entitled "The Lost Artifacts", which introduced an artifact version of every item in the game that didn't have one. Nobody seemed to show much interest, so I'm incorporating it into Massmod. This creates 15 new artifact versions of already-in-game items. CREDITS ------- *Major thanks to heron for the model for Maxwell Edison. *Thanks to WoWiki, a World of Warcraft-centered wiki, for providing the icons for the abilities. *Thanks to Monty Python for providing the inspiration for 2 easter eggs. *Thanks to The Beatles for providing the inspiration for the 3rd easter egg. *Image editing was done with Paint.NET and GIMP 2.2, both of which are free image-editing programs. *Hex editing was done with HHD Hex Editor, a free hex-editing program. *All sound editing was done with Audacity, a free sound editing program.
