Multiplayer Commands

 Network Menu:

You can bring up the Network Menu by clicking  N on your keyboard or by clicking on this icon on your belt .

There are a number of icons to the right of each players name that are used to interact with one another in game in different ways. Note that your character's buttons start out as being all grey, this is because you cannot perform any of the actions on yourself. These buttons will also change as different actions are performed by you and others in game, here is a list of all the variety of icons and what they mean:

invite this person to party

person is in lobby but not in game

you cannot invite to party

you have been invited to party with this person

you have invited this person to party with you

leave the party or kick someone from party

you are party leader

someone else is party leader

send private chat

ignore

this person is being ignored

Alright so those are the basics and I will explain a bit how they are used and how a party works...

Parties:

There can be any number of parties in a game and each person that is currently in a party will have this appear between their name and the icons:

This way you can tell who is in which party and each party will be numbered, example: Party 1, Party 2, etc. There is always a leader of each party and if the current leader of a party leaves the game someone else in that party will then become leader. Only the party leader can invite others into the party or kick people from the party.

All the party functions work just by clicking on the icons listed above so for example if you want to accept a party invite just click on the icon with the Green Arrow.  If you have invited someone to party and want to cancel that invite before they have accepted it just click on the icon with the Blue Arrow next to their name. If you have started a party all the people who have accepted your invite will have a red arrow appear on their icon, if you want to kick anyone out of your party click on their icon.

A little more info. on parties:

the level of the monsters is based on the highest level party member whether they are fighting side by side with you or not
when you are partied with someone you share the experience of all kills regardless of who is doing the killing as long as you are on the same screen with them
when you are in a party you share experience from all quests regardless of whether you are anywhere near them or not

Private Chat:

If you would like to talk to someone privately you can click on the chat bubble icon next to their name.
This will bring up the chat bar with this code already typed in: /s #
The # is the number that you find to the left hand side of the persons name.
You can always skip the step of clicking the icon though and just type the code yourself.
So if you wanted to private message me based on the above screenshot you would type:
/s 1 then you would type your message here

Ignore:

If someone in game is bothering you either with what they are saying or that they just won't shut up you can ignore them by clicking the icon with the Eye on in. This will make it where anything they type will not appear on your screen. When you have chosen to ignore someone the Eye icon next to their name will have a red X over it to show that ignore is enabled.

 Lobby Command List:

The above list of commands can be accessed either in-game or in the chat screen by entering /? in the chat field.

It is pretty self-explanatory... it tells the commands on how to:

private message a certain player (whether they are in your game or just online)
show buddy list
private message EVERYONE on your buddy list
add and remove people to your buddy list

I have never had a reason to use the Alarm code so I have not idea what exactly it does or if it works.

Note: In order to add a person to your Friend List you BOTH must be in a game lobby together. This prevents people from adding anyone they want to their Friend List without their knowledge. (Remember in Diablo how people could add you to their Buddy List and then follow you around and harass you? This is why they did it this way.)

 In Game Command List:

Again this is pretty self explanatory.... it the commands on how to:

private message a certain player (whether they are in your game or just online)
private message to all party members
private message single person in game
show buddy list
private message EVERYONE on your Friend List
