installing a second hard drive.

I have a dell deminsion 4100. I installed a IDE\DISK800BB-75JHCO.I am unable to intialize it. When I go into my computer I dont see it, but if I go into device manager it shows up and says it is working properly.I went into setup and checked the IDE settings and it looks ok.Help.

If it is a new hard disk then you may need to create a new partition & format it before it will show up in My Computer.
Have a look in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management
Your drive should show up here, where you can partition & format it.
