Michael Reid Meredith, 47, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday morning, September 15, 2004. He was born in Sanford, Florida, February 21, 1957. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Louise Vining Meredith and his father, Owen Reid Meredith, and is survived by his sister, Patricia Karper, brother-in-law Earl Karper, Sr. and many cousins in Florida and New York, and nephews Christopher Karper and Earl Karper, Jr. in Maryland.

A graduate of Seminole High School in 1976, Michael went on to attend classes at Seminole Community College. He began a 21 year career working in various Laborer positions at the Kennedy Space Center working for Pan American World Airways, Johnson Controls, and finally Wang Enterprises. He was a proud member of his Union. Finally having to go on medical disability due to Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer he began to wage a two and a half year battle with the cancer and its complications.

During his spare time, Michael loved to go to Walt Disney World and its various parks. Here is where he found many long time friends and acquaintances at The Adventurers Club. Many evenings, the cast and audiences would laugh so much that Michael's eyes would disappear from laughing so hard. When his illness stopped him from working he would become a volunteer for the Orlando Theatre Project. A year later he was selected by the OTP membership to become a Supporting Member.

He was a member of the Markham Woods Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir.

His smile, sunny disposition, and laughter will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched each day of his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Markham Woods Presbyterian Church Music Ministry or The Orlando Theatre Project.

Michael was one of my cousins by marriage. His mother, Ethel Louise Vining Meredith, was my father's sister.

I was also sent the following from his sister, Patricia Meredith Karper:
You can view his obituary online and sign his guestbook at:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/ - click on "announcements" in the left hand column - click on "obituaries" = "search" by last name - click on his name - after reading, click on "view/sign guestbook" and leave a message if you wish.

A simpler path than the above, would be to simply click on this link.
