How about AVG as shown on our Security Links page? It is free along with frequent updates and has been working well for me now for over a year.

While you are on the PCTalk\Freeware\Security page listing, you may also want to visit some of the other sites indicated in that area. The ones in bold are what I consider a minimum to protect any computer.

As I've recently found, sometimes even that minimum isn't enough. :(

I will be updating my recommended minimum soon. ;)

Which Anti-Virus to choose now?

Lotussy, It seems you can't go wrong w/ either of the three. I have both of the original ones you mentioned, and the automatic updates work well in either one. I don't know if AVG offers auto, or any insurance that you hope you never need? Free sounds good and Spock gets around on the global HWY pretty good, so a year recommendation sounds good too.I appreciate your ?'s, because they have made me go back and learn and review some stuff. I hope I also have been of some help, it can be a daunting task but also a lot of fun! Keep on, Keeping on. Let me know how things turn out. 8-)

I use AVG Free and haven't had any large problems with it yet (fingers crossed).
