Should I try Reg Pro?

Postby Lester » Sun 2008 Sep 07 11:26

Repair Registry Pro tells me I have 1321 problems to repair. Ex:Com\ActiveX Entries 142 and Font Entries 664 and many more. $39.95 one time charge and 90day money back guarantee and use a credit card. Sounds OK. How do I know I need it for sure and if it will work or is it a trial and error kind of situation? This web site I can't get on either http://www.ChesapeakeUsersGroup.org. Keeps telling me an error occured. Been like this for a yr. Need to continue my studies and can't. Hate to say hello when I'm drowning :hello2: but miss you all. Sincerely, Lester

You don't provide a link but I would be wary of such claims and offers. I got System Mechanic Pro 7 only to find out recently that they consider my "subscription" has expired and they want me to upgrade to version 8 for more money. If I pay for software I expect to be able to use it as long as I own it, not just for a year! Even the Symantec programs will continue to offer some protection even if you don't renew your subscription to download new anti-virus definitions.

Decided to uninstall that Repair Reg Pro thanks to you and installed McAfee which comes with Comcast. Should have done that long time ago. Working OK now. Only 1 threat after yr. What does that tell us? Is Comcast pretty secure on it's own? Prior to this had Net 0 and all kinds of problems.
That http://www.ChesapeakePCUsersGroup.org I still can't acess. Error mess says; Iexplorer has encountered errors and will need to be restarted. Only on my comp? Libraries access it with no problem all lower case letters as well. Only happens on my comp. Anyone understand why?
Thanks for reminder of all the online training. I Checked into Computer Network Training Co. and they want 27K$ for a 6 month course. Sat in for 20 min. and I could see Daddy's were paying for most tutution of others. Looked like a railroading operation to me. You know; get as many as possible. Must have been 40 students in class. Their makin big $. Will get on the tutorials. Love those the best. Let you know. Sincerely, Floating Again

There must be something on your computer blocking your access to the User's Group. I can access it fine using either my link or your second link, both from the classroom and at home.

Did in fact uninstall this Reg Pro and still it appears on my task bar. Always wanted to know why and how can this be if I uninstalled it. Is this an example of the tennicles that are left behind like AOL does? What do I do now with it just rt. click and delete the remander? Did locate the folder in the C directory tree and is that the appropriate way to eliminate it? TY

How did you uninstall it? Did you use the Control Panel or was there an uninstall function associated with the program?

In any case. if you did a proper uninstall, you may have to perform a cold boot of your system before everything disappears. If you made the shortcut yourself, the uninstall program knows nothing about it, so you will have to remove it yourself. After that, simply delete whatever portions remain.

Did use the Control Panel to uninstall but did not create a shortcut for the icon on the right side of task bar. Been wondering this. Did couple cold boots and still there. Any idea why it wouldn't remove it? Will remove for good now. TY

There are any number of reasons why it would not remove, one of which is that it doesn't belong to the program you uninstalled. If you double-click on it, it should just come up with a message saying it couldn't find the program if you actually uninstalled it.
