VB - Simple Network Communications

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about how to communicate over networks using Visual Basic, I use version 6.
I'm looking for simple examples I could expand opun with a view to creating some kind of network chat type program.

I have VB.net but I'm still learning to control it myself.

Why not take a look at VB.Net Heaven? They have all versions of VB, including 6 and may have some usefeul source you could look at.
