Slideshow Software

Postby Spock » Wed 2006 Mar 08 3:20

I am trying to create a slideshow of photos taken while on a recent tour. I have tried several options to allow me to create a slideshow viewable on a home DVD player for those without computers but have had little luck so far. The best I've been able to do is simply display the photos one after the other with no sound, captions, or titles.

I have tried Roxio DVD Builder, My Slideshow Gold 2, Nero 7 Ultra Edition Nero Vision, and muvee AutoProducer all with little or no luck.

The closest I've come is My Slideshow Gold 2 but it limits me to slideshows of 256 photos and I have almost 1700!

Any suggestions for a software package would be appreciated. My requirements are listed below:

1. Create a list of almost 1700 photos in the order I want them displayed,

2. Allow for music to be played from a playlist during the slideshow,

3. Allow captions and photo information to be displayed with each photo.

I used Nero Vision 4 to create a VCD of all the pictures I have but it is a simple display of the pictures. I wanted to have a bit more control over what was being shown. There is also no option to burn to a DVD as that requires "an additional plugin" which is not available. :?
