file conversion

How do I convert AAC files to mp3? I am trying to play music on my website. I can get it to work if I link a button to an mp3 file. I can't figure out how to use AAC files, which most of my music is. Preferrably I would like the music to autoplay when you enter my index page.

I've never gone in for putting music on my website or even playing it on my computer much but I found an online FAQ addressing your query.

WWW FAQs: How do I play songs in a random order on my web page?

Hope that helps. ;)

As long as you found an answer that helped you is what's important. Of course it helps that you are now sharing that information with others. ^_^

That works for mp3 files. Unfortunately most of my music is AAC files. I still haven't figured out how to convert them.

Read the second post here: http://forums.macnn.com/90/mac-os-x/190 ... -possible/

If that still doesn't work for you, try googling "convert aac to mp3"

Also note that if the song has DRM restrictions it will be impossible to (legally) convert it to an mp3, and we cannot help you.

Thank you for commenting about DRM. I knew something bothered me about this but couldn't think what it was until your post.

I knew there was a reason I wanted people who knew more than me to help moderate the forum! :applaus1:
