Repairing Printers?

Postby Saber » Mon 2008 Mar 24 5:24

Anybody ever had luck with printers when they have acted up? I have one printer that just started feeding crooked and another that I can't get to feed and print at all now? :pcbang:

You could try to clean the print path. Usually paper doesn't feed properly because ink or other debris has built up somewhere in the paper path. My daughter has a fairly new printer that stopped feeding paper. Upon looking at it, I determined that it needed a new feed roller.

It would cost more for parts and labor to fix it than for her to buy a new printer.

I may eventually fix it just so I know I can but no, when the ink cartridges cost more than the printer, it's better to just buy a new printer.

Having said that, you can always take it to Best Buy to see what they say. I have a feeling they will say the same.

About the only printers that are worth repairing are the high-end lasers. In my professional opinion. There are low end lasers out there that are best to replace. I have a low end laser and I love it for what I use it for.

If cleaning it doesn't work, it''s best to buy a new one.
