Before you register for this forum, you should be aware that it has been set up primarily as a teaching tool, so it may not be as advanced as you would think.
We are solely an English language site, so any applications that are not in understandable English will be denied. Foreign Nationals will be allowed but they must abide by the English Language rule. Any place names or other information they submit must be the English Language equivalent.
We monitor topics and posts and do not allow membership to those with obvious spam intentions. We also do not allow advertising, solicitation, or pornography on our site or forum, so if you have any of those ideas in mind, please do not apply as it will only waste your time and ours. Because we have had so many problems with Spammers, all Newly Registered Users will be confined to a Private, Hidden area where only Registered Users and Admins have access. This will allow us to determine your suitability for our Community while hiding any posts, website links, or anything else you may try to publish.
In accordance with this policy, we now have a new requirement for those who would join us. You must make an introductory post to become a member of the forum with all rights that are implied. Until such a time as the introductory post(s) have been approved, no one will be given full membership status or allowed to post in the rest of the forum. This will allow us to maintain better positive control over the forum, therefore giving our students a better learning experience.
For those who do register, if you are sincere, a post or two will allow us to determine if your intentions are beneficial to our group. There will be an approximate two week period where you are encouraged to make useful posts to the single forum you have access to. Useful posts are any posts that allow us to get to know you; introductory posts. If you have any requests for help, please wait to post them until you have been accepted as a forum member. If you never make any posts it will be assumed you have something in mind other than getting or offering help and you will eventually be removed.
If you are a returning user, you will be surprised to find that you cannot login and all of our old posts are no where to be found. Our website has been moved to a different server and we are trying to restore the old database. So far we have not met with any success. If we can recover the old database, we will try to move important topics from the old forums into the new forums. Please check back regularly, as things are quickly changing here at PCTalk.
Thank you,
Spock
